Ukrainian Jewelry Art Scene Shines at GemGenève 2025

Julie Kleom and Anna Scheidemann Present the “Sweet World” Jewelry Together with the Strong and Precious Art Foundation.

Ukrainian jewelry artist Julie Kleom, in collaboration with conceptual artist Anna Scheidemann, continues their artistic partnership Honey System, which explores themes of femininity, ecology, and the relationship between humans and the environment. This year, at the international exhibition GemGenève 2025 in Geneva, they will present a new art piece — the ring titled “Sweet World.”

This bold two-finger ring embodies the richness and depth of floral honey through the architectonics of honeycombs and the brilliance of precious stones. The gemstones, sourced from the Ukrainian producer Volyn Gems and mined in the Volodarsk-Volynskyi deposit, feature a natural luster and a palette of hues that evoke droplets of golden nectar. They symbolize the harmony between nature, craftsmanship, and a feminine perspective.

A team of artisans handcrafted the piece over more than 40 hours — each detail meticulously refined as a gesture of respect for the material, nature, and the concept itself. The ring is not only aesthetically captivating but also deeply conceptual — it advocates for sustainability, reverence for nature, and awareness of our impact on the environment.

“Salt has already been explored — it’s time for something sweet: honey and bees,” shares Julie Kleom.

“We are creating a dialogue about a world that needs tenderness, just as bees need flowers,” comments Anna Scheidemann.

The Honey System collection is part of the Hidden Treasure exhibition organized by the Strong and Precious Art Foundation. This collection showcases unique Ukrainian jewelry pieces that blend cultural identity, artisanal craftsmanship, and rare minerals found in Ukraine.

The Strong and Precious Art Foundation is participating in GemGenève for the sixth time and is celebrating its third anniversary. The foundation’s mission is to support Ukrainian jewelers and promote their work on the international stage. In collaboration with Volyn Gems, which holds the exclusive rights to mine gemstones in the Volyn region, this year’s exhibition will showcase true treasures of Ukrainian culture.
